I was considering getting a storage/carry case when I decide on the new c/saw. Do many of you invest in the cases for your saws?

Thanks.

I don`t, but I might if the saw were going to sit in the same area as your lathe.

wood its agoodidea.. if u dont carryit in the truck an such.. its nice topick up u suitcase an go to work..if u cut occasionally. keeps everything rite there whereu need it..ive got several here ..

i just dont have the space intruck as
they do take up space...if u get one..put gripper material so it dont slide around in u truck bed as bad.. good luck..
i got an old scabard here that somefello
painted stihl colors over husk .. :)

I have a new one, but never use it as it takes up more space for storing the saw.

I was thinking of selling it.

I've got one case that sits on the top shelf in my garage and only gets used if I'm moving the saw in my car or the minivan, not the truck. I've got two others out in the shed that I can't even give away. They end up taking up too much space and get in the way when I'm out in the woods. For transport, I have a short line that I run across the bed and thread through the saw handles.

navigator.. cut the endout the bar cover.. than do some fancy .desighn
on an old scabbard orange an black for instance..an stick on the end..

Does anyone have one that will fit my Super 930 with the 37" bar???

I cannot give them away either...I sell so few small (enough to fit) saws a year that they are few and far between. The 2156 has been my smallest sell in quite awhile...

And yes, I am building one(2156)...and I have some testing to do with a new file guide (never seen on the market), which I am going to use the saw for. The new file guide is for semi chisel .325 chain(3/8 in the works), giving it a square filed edge...good for long lasting sharp chains.(and better than Gypo can file)

I have quite a few cases in the shop. I use them only rarely. There was a guy who had an ad in the paper here last year wanting to buy one piece Homelite cases. I should have sold him 10 or 20. You snooze you loose.

1 piece cases are still available but all the ones I have seen are black and not Husky orange. I am sure they are all made in the same factory but I think they are branded as Jonsered.

I case all of my saws. I don't want them banging around during transport. They also get stored around in my shop and the cases protect them. I figure if I take care of my saws, they'll take care of me.

Dennis: I've made a case from a walmart duffel/travel bag for my 066 - 25" or 28" bars as I've yet to find a factory case big enough.

Also use the pockets and storage area in the bag to keep a few 'extra parts' handy for the "field".
Extra starter rope, plug, misc nuts/bolts, of course... my copy of The Catcher in the Rye, & even have a place for extra bar.

Thanks Butch.....
yeah, you could fit two Stihl 20's in there (without chain brakes) and still have room for a couple of end-of-the-day cold ones!

Some nice features on that "sawbag", Buckduck. Nice Job.

IMHO, the plastic clamshell cases provide good protection for a chainsaw, but are clumsy to use & take up twice the amount of space when open. I like an open wooden box or crate for the back of a pickup truck.

Buckduck - Bob Uecker, the radio announcer & comedian for the Milwaukee Brewers, has a book about his experiences in baseball titled, "Catcher in the Wrye".
