The pads sound like a real good idea to me. Beats the heck out of the oil soaked shop rag that has been in the bottom of my Stihl case, just making a mess. Btw, I'm also one of those who tends to keep my possessions clean as I can. Makes using and maintaining them much nicer, and when it comes to selling something, it really pays off.

The pads work well for me and seldom need to be changed.

I only have one saw that leaks, and it was from Wicked Work Saw not sealing the case halves correctly. I have a few pig pads on the bench shelf, mostly for it.
All the others are fine.

I've referenced this thread a few times lately, so time for a 'bump'.

Still use them. Still work. Available from most auto supply stores in case you don't want / need to buy a whole case.
