Just wondering what brand chain you guys use or what you think is the best ( fastest cutting, longest lasting etc.) I have been using Oregon chains and they seem to wear out faster that the stock chain that came on my 385xp. Thanks

They are all good. Stihl seems to me to have the best edge holding characteristics combined with a very sharp corner on thechisel cutters. Oregon also has a sharp junction on their chisel but seems a little softer than the Stihl. Carlton is very longwearing chain but is slightly less agressive with its less sharp sideplate/topplate junction. These are subtle differences. Carlton is loved by many because it wears slightly longer and costs less than the others. Oregon is the world leader in sales. Stihl is very good but they are also very proud of their product ( they charge more). I run them all. I like them all. Whatever it is -keep it sharp!

Try Stihl RSF (full chisel, full skip) (If you running decent horse power). Will cut though doug fir/ Alder and all manner of NW woods in flash - and less cutters to touch up. Just be careful - not for limbing :)
