Still playing with angles and height. Will it hold? Having problems with main part bending from welding on one side. Welding and inch at a time and let it cool.

Doug, if you weld on one side and then immediately weld on the same location on the opposite side, it will help lessen the weld draw.
Certainly looking great thus far. I wish we were closer and could help with a project like this.

Doug, u were concerned about it holdin. maybe put a couple knee braces ,one on each end at the uprites.
my thoughts anyway.
what trailer u gonna put it on?

I'm no engineer but I was thinking the same thing. It needs a brace at the foot and the table. Wait... I am an engineer.

Also the great thing about the bucking trailer we used was the rounds rolled down hill, out of the way and right to the splitters. Not too late to weld it onto a ramp that spits the round out the back. You could still set it on a trailer or use it on the ground.

Doug, I have a feeling where the uprights are welded to the bottom feet, it will start caving in the feet unless you have sleeved something inside the 2x5" rectangular tubing, (centered under the upright), like a length of square tubing with 1/4" wall. The longer the piece the stronger the foot will be. If you go 1/2" shorter than the rectangular tubing it will give you 1/4" on the inside of each end to weld it in place & hide the welds.

I also will side with Mark & Shawn on the need to brace the outsides corners of the table up from the feet. When you think of the volume of weight that will be dropped on the table over the course of a year, it will need to be able to withstand a lot of stress/use.

I have many trailers to try the stand on. I was thinking first try it on the 32' flat tilt deck trailer. For by myself I thought I might try the end of the dump trailer. Let the rounds roll to the front of the trailer. Once full put the splitter to the back and then tilt the trailer so the round come to the splitter. It is a work in progress. I did some checking and it does need additional bracing. The middle support was down a 1/4 inch after the test run. I had trouble running my 201CE during this test. Kept sputtering. Might have some water in fuel. I don't use ethanol in my saws.

Total of 6 cord stacked from cut! Many more to stack.

I should've found some time to come over and help you stack... :( any more to stack?

Also some 1/4" triangular plate steel will work for easy knee braces and DSM steel will probably cut their small square plates into triangles if you ask.
