Most of these saws that I have run into are the regular Poulans (not the Pro) that have died because of badly scored cylinder and piston or have just seized and stopped. The big problem is most of these saws are bought by people who know nothing about chainsaws. The saws often come with the carb set too lean and the owners don't know they need to be adjusted. These are light duty saws and people buy them and do heavy duty cutting. The chains are usually dull so the operator uses heavy pressure to make it cut and lugs the engine down under full power causing it to overheat. Other factors are low quality oil and queeswork about mixing.
