Yep, thats DEFINATELY a fire waiting to engulf the house. but where's his chainsaw to cut the wood? I only use a firepit outside, or a properly set up fireplace built into the house.

Oh boy, gottta keep thiss thread going, I need to get a picture of the setup in my shop, no possible way its sane. But it heats the shop and the house upstairs. The guy who lived here before me was creative to put it nicely.

This is serious buis.Thousands of fires occur each year from nonsense such as this.Really foolish !

Actually, I thought if he had metalbestos pipe running thru the wall it would be cool, but the plywood exposed like that could get hot enough to go maybe, don't know if its as bad as some guys are painting.

Forgive the guy, he's only from Pennsylvania, much like the people from the Yukon.

...um.... excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuze me?????????????? :blob5:

Never been to Yukon, but wife has, she says it ain't nuthin' like PA :) ... did drive the VW bug all the way up to Chibougamau Quebec... not much like PA there either.

The outside pipe looks like flexible dryer vent pipe. The 3 inside intake air hoses he says are tygon (gas/fuel hose). And the
carpet right up to the stove is a nice touch. Probably meets all of Pennsylvania's insurance codes. What's the problem?

It's pretty much obvious that this person cannot continue to use the stove, especially in its present configuration. Maybe they're being forced to remove it by some neighborhood policies, or by the insurance company.

It's not the safest installation, to be sure, but in his defense, it is workable. Sure, there's plywood in the window opening, but he's got cement board in the center, through which passes the inexcusable "flue". It also appears as though he's got cement board under the stove.

I hope he's able to sell it to someone who can put it to actually good use so that he doesn't totally lose out on his expenses. It's a cheap stove, but it would serve a small shop well for a while.

This installation is hardly worse than using wood heat in a mobile home, and that's done all the time.

glens I lived in a mobile home first few years of marriage, and got wood for nothing (was on logging crew) so tried to find a woodstove to put in the thing, and FORTUNATELY I was talked out of it by lots of folks. I'm a little smarter now, but glad others were looking out for me back then.

C'mon guys. There's only one word for that guy. "ASS" Only an ass would run a pipe like that threw a window. Only an ass would use flexible aluminum pipe for a woodstove. Not to mention not even getting the pipe high enough to clear the roof. This guy is a total loser without a brain to hook up a stove like that. Watch his house will burn down before the auction ends.

Amen!
