I recently replaced a clutch on an MS 500i which had the problem of the chain turning at idle, I removed the clutch which in my opinion had slightly worn springs and I replaced it with a new one, as soon as it was turned on it seemed that the problem had resolved itself but after a couple of accelerations the chain was still running at idle as if the idle was slightly high, I tried to make a couple of cuts but nothing changed; What do you recommend, thanks in advance

Is it idling higher than normal? Could there be an air leak? Can you stop the sprocket manually? Is the bearing spinning freely? Is the pump worm spinning freely on the crank at idle? Is it reassembled correctly? Will it idle with the chain brake on?

How long was it idling high before you swapped out the clutch? My 500I, when still new, few tanks through it ran what I'd describe as a high idle whereas the chain continued to run with no throttle pressure. If it were carbed, I would have been reaching for a screwdriver. I didn't know what to do, still in warranty, called the selling dealer and got the "never heard of that before" attitude. So back to the wood pile, cautiously continued cutting, and it settled down. Aside from it being a bit hard to start still, it's been a good saw.
If I had to do it over again, I probably would have bought a carbed saw, maybe a 462? Still might, but with zero "local" support, it's a crap shoot. Same, sadly no dealer support for Husky's also.
