Here is a log splitter thats on craigs list.....I dont have nothing to do with it...
but man I bet this could split some wood...lol

Looks like a great deal of overkill to me. With that short stroke, I doubt you would ever be in a postion to put that thing to any kind of a test. doesnt hardly seem worth it considering how much fuel that thing probably eats.

That was not built by a simple man

That dude was engineered , I mean over engineered..Wow.. and it won't split anything that one half the weight will split.
 
Looks Like you could split wood sideways with that thing. I could have used a splitter like that today! I was splitting some kind of elm (I think) that I've never seen before and man was I some tuff stuff. Maybe the toughes I've ever split. Real intertwined grain and it didn't smell to pretty. My Timberwolf Tw-p1 was very slooooow cycling through it.
 
hmmm... based upon proportions... if diameter is 8in... that would make stroke closer to 28in

sure wish that splitter was closer to me... I'd be interested... a log lift and table would be next.

it looks like it would only take about a 10" size log. way over built for the size of stroke.
