Local saw shop was having a spring open house yesterday. So I went and ate a bunch of his food and bought a saw.

I bought the 2149 at a sale price of $315US. It's usually $379 around these parts. The rep threw in a canvas saw case ( kind of worthless, but good enough for gear), and of course a token Jonsered cap.

I think I did well.

The Jonsered rep was there, so I got to try the saws he had. 2149, the new 2159, and a 2171. He tried telling me that a 2171 outcuts an 046M. I just laughed and put on the hat he gave me.

Brought the saw to work today, only had occaision to make two cuts with it, so I can't say I'm in love yet. The goofy air filter/plug cover is kind of hard to get on and off, but geez the saw is engineered well otherwise.

By the way, anyone have experience with the new Husky stumpgrinder? We're thinking of getting one.

That's a good price...I'd crow too. Where you at in Mn?
My old Jonsered dealer was more or less forced to quit selling Jons. saws by Husqvarna.
Like everybody, he is only willing to tie up so much in inventory, and Husky has been pretty insistent that local dealers carry everything in the catalog.

I can still get parts, but it looks like my next new saw will either be orange, Orange and cream, or come on a UPS truck.

eyolf,

Two main dealers here sell both Husq & Jons. One sells Husq, Jons, and Stihl.

Your email option is off. Email me. If we're close, we should get together. If you're looking for a good Jons dealer, I can reccomend one.

I run a tree service with a friend of mine in the twin cities/suburbs. Big area, lots of customers. We have two municipal contracts, but do alot of private work as well. Firewood in the winter.

later,

Wow!

I used the new 2149 yesterday. Ran three tanks through it. Bucked alot of wood. Great saw. Everything I had hoped for. Maybe a touch faster than my 520, but not much. Alot lighter though. I consider it nearly broken-in now, so next time I'll really let it rip.

Even completely stock, this saw is a sweetheart.
