In this instance, a relationship with a dealer is priceless. They all have "junk" saws come through their shop. Who are they going to save them for? The guy that stops in twice a year, or the one that stops in a couple times a month, knows people by name, and throws the dealer some business?

Could not agree with you more. Have purchased non-running saws a lot cheaper than this from local dealer, who I know by name and they know me. Will allow me to dig through their junk piles, but wanted to start with a fairly complete running saw to show how one can be brought back to excellent running condition and give many years of service, using oem parts. Husky tech may even give you pointers and reset Autotune saws cheap.

Cost for donor $312, choke lever $2.39, starter side bumper $3.49, oem base gasket $3.59, oem fuel line/filter and impulse $13.39, jet $5.09, o-ring $2.09, rim sprocket $6.59 and spark plug $2.29, Caber rings $13.69, Hyway crank seals $5.00 and screws were gifted to me. Total cost $369.61 for a very close to oem build. Picture of flywheel shows that easy to shear cast key, clean crank shaft area and flywheel, then clean it again before installing. Did have to use sleeve retainer on clutch side seal, felt to loose to me. Have used it a few times to secure outer bearing race on 570 series clutch side crank bearing (they are prone to spin in bearing pocket) and work well. Only two complaints about saw purchase, it would run, but would not have run for long with that air leak and someone used RED Loctite sealant, use blue not red, please. Outstanding thing about that saw purchase was probably cleanest used saw I have every purchased.

I heard on you tube once you get the bugs out of the rice burner 372xp they run good?

While I’m waiting for my 272xp to arrive, all my parts are on order for my saws that need tlc. I just purchased another 570xp number 3 for me that runs for $275. For a used saw that’s pretty good to me. This is turning into a hobby too. I’m not sure if I can afford to feed them all. I take in abondoned cats. I have seven right now. I just can’t pass up hungry little face or a sweet deal. When I hit 12 saws I’ll stop, maybe........lol My two boys cut trees, so it’s for them.

Ya I know I could of purchased new saws but my tools are getting rusty since I’m retired.
