I just thought of something.
Assuming a green tree is chipped up after falling.
Will the weight of the chips equal the weight of the tree before chipping?

Anyone ever notice a load of chips seems lighter than a load of tree trunks? :)

A slight ammount of moisture loss occurs as you chip the wood and blow it into the truck. The chips will weigh a little less than the unchipped limbs did.

Live oak is one of the heaviest species of wood by volume. I guess it would make sense it would weigh more, doesnt it weigh like 76 pounds a cubic foot of green log?
