The knives on a chipper should last a while depending on how they use it and wat they out in it. You can tell wen the blades r bad by the way it chips. And you can check the knives wen u r done using it.

When u check the knives it can see little nicks a few r ok but many of them u need to get it sharpened or new ones. If there is a big nick like quarter inch u need new ones.

i have a bc1000. the knives last about 50 hours each side and take just over a hour to change. tried anti-sleeze this time and hope that it takes 25 minutes only next time around. wont know till late winter or early spring, we slow down from dec. to march.
