Hey Guys,

New to owning a chipper. Got a small morbark with a perkins 34hp diesel engine. How often do you do oil changes? On top of that plus daily greasing and keeping the knifes sharp and air cleaner clean, Are there some other things I can do to be keeping in good working order? How often do you bring it in for a professional maintenance check? I'm not a real mechanical guy but can do the basic things.

As well any oil brand recommendations?

Thanks

I change the oil every 100 hrs. Also keep up on keeping it clean and debris from building up. Watch for broken welds and cracks and keep it painted. Rust is a killer.

What model engine? Some of the smaller Perkins engines do not do well with 15w40 year round. DF
