I recently saw a tree service co. today with a 24" trailer and mounted on the front-end of the trailer was a chipper.
Didn't see what kind or size it was.
Has anybody heard or seen anything like this, and if so how did it work out?

Reason I ask is because i would like to purchase a chipper (8-10in) for my guys. Currently we are using a truck to pull 24" goose-neck. I certainly can't tow a chipper so i was hoping someone has experience or knowledge of working with a setup like this.

I've seen these around a few times, and I think they're a great thing... a tipping trailer with a chipper built in to it. I've only ever seen them with 6" chippers though, and mostly the vermeer one which is more like a 3-4" chipper which is not a lot of use. If they had a 9" on they'd be useful but too big/heavy. I nearly bought a truck last year that was about a 12 cube bin on the back, with a 9" chipper mounted on it. Looked very practical and usable but someone beat me to it.

Hey Beav,

There have been a number of threads on this set up. Something I've always thought about as well. Google search

"chipper trailer combo" and click images. Some pretty neat set ups.

Saw one not to long ago where the chipper was mounted sideways on the trailer so the infeed was curb side. Also had a nifty little platform for a mini skid and a few attachments. Looked like it was pretty well thought out.
