I had a meeting with a client this morning. They had one of those little yard man / troy built / etc. chipper shredders sitting down in a hole and said I could have it if I want it. It's been down there for a while, but really never saw any use. I'm guessing it's only rated for 1.5" at the most. Have any of you guys ever used these things? Just wondering if it would be worth my time to get it running for future use. Obviously not for big stuff, but maybe for real low access work to cut down on trips. Maybe it's better off in the scrap pile?

I bought one about 4 years ago for cleaning up around the yard. Useless. Maybe 1 1/2" cap. but it has to be straight stuff. Shredder needs dry material. Wet or stringy matter will clog it and then you have get in and dig the stuff out. It's number 2 on my list of bad purchases. Right behind X-Ray Specs.
