I currently have an early 90's Bandit 200+ with the 6 cyl ford engine. Nothing wrong with it, it actually is more capable than I expected but just looking to get something a little bigger and with a diesel engine.
So just wondering what you guys prefer, a disc or drum style chipper and why.

Drum vs Disc

Drum chippers get more even knife wear however, they don't throw chips very far as the fans are a lot smaller than a disc chipper. The disc chipper gets uneven knife wear as the outer knives wear faster than the inner. The fan paddles on the disc chipper are a lot larger than the drum and they will pack a truck better than a drum chipper.

Hope this helps.
