My 335 husky came with low kick-back chain and dealer also threw in a standard chain. I been using the standard chain most of the time but I think I am going back to low kick-back for safety. What chain are you guys buying for your climbing saws. Do you think low kick-back is low performance ?

Guard link chain is lower in performance-about 10%-and doesn't work well at all for boring cuts. The "safety" chains that make the reduced kickback rating by utilizing wide raker designs (either tri-raker or the folded over raker ala Oregon Vanguard) work for boring and seem to cut pretty close to non-reduced kickback designs.

I run low-kickback on my climbing saw- mostly because I don't go thru enough chains on it to buy rolls of 91, and Wal-Fart has 'em cheap.

I've never really noticed a lack of performance compared to the loops of non-RKB, and have yet to have the need of a boring cut with it.
