Should the disk be spinning when the clutch is not engaged? I have never noticed it before. Also how would I go about adjusting the clutch
It’s a DC 1317 Altec and kubota 3600What make of chipper? What engine and what PTO (PTO would be the engagement and drive.
Most dry clutch PTO's require 1" of free travel before engagement.

But I don’t think the disk should spin at all if the clutch isn’t engaged should it?It’s a DC 1317 Altec and kubota 3600
It all depends on how much frictional pre load there is on the clutch disk, the condition of the throwout bearing and the age of the assembly. The discs freewheel in both my large frame, Kubota tractors and far as I know, always have actually. I don't pay any attention to it, I just keep the throwout bearing greased as both mine are greaseable. But I don’t think the disk should spin at all if the clutch isn’t engaged should it?
