Had some time away from work, and spent it wisely playing around in the garage with some of my project saws. Got the new carb kit in the Mac 1-40, New chain on the Stalwart Lightning(It's a rebadged Lombard) and the old Remington PL-55. The log is one I keep out back for testing saws out. The bar on the Mac and Stalwart - 16", on the Rem - 24"(bar has some pitting on it, but it will polish up).

The stating lineup.....

Looking back at the pics, I wish the Remington didn't look as rough as it does. I like to get my old saws in good running order before I restore them. I'll cut up a bunch of wood with it before I'm convinced that everything is working the way it should. Then I'll strip it down and give it a coat of paint and some new decals. But don't let the rough exterior fool you, that saw will get into the wood and grunt!

Remingtons, particulary the red and white ones, lose their paint fast, like the paint is very thin. The PL55 of your's doesn't look all that bad, my Super 754 has lots of bare metal showing and it has had very little use.

IEL RA back from the grave....

Been working on this IEL RA, that I came across this summer. Thought it would never run in the condition that it arrived in, but a little patience and help from the members here, An ol' gal gets a new lease on life.........enjoy

Cool pics! How old is that Pioneer? I've got an old one that I picked up sitting in the shop. Looks similar to that one. Thought I'd try to restore it sometime when I get slow and bored. Not that I know much about old saws. Just thought it would be a fun project at some point.

Vintage late 50's. Was the last model that IEL put out before they were completely taken over by Pioneer. I wondered about puting the 26" bar on, but the saw handled it like a champ. Would really like to spend some time bucking with this saw. Need to eat more wheaties to do that.....LOL
