The Z means different drive link count than the more common letter. In this case K. Isn't an 095 often called small Husky mount less oddball than D176? This being Oregon numbering system.

My point is/ was, if Echo changed from their previous standard D176 mount, why not go with a more widely available K095?

No you can't and if you have a 72 dL try it on your Stihl bar??? if that's compatibile at least you have one,the other won't fit. Make it longer.
How can you eventually run both when they are different lengths

Good grief! Did that make sense in your head?

For some reason yeah
We must be suffering from the same thing. Lol
You just got to cut out the first 3/4. It's just a smoke screen

He THINKS the 72 DL fits with the stihl...but he's not sure and has another bar that is also 72dl and wants to run the 70 chain eventually on what sounds like a reg 3/8 20"
so he can have two set ups. Something you just need a dyslexic ADD/ADHD translator with severe concentration problems... (That may have been implied)
OK Jon? Just let me know if you run into this again..lol
The first one was for the OP's eyes

LOL!

I don't know which I find to be more frightening, the fact that the above post makes sense to me, or that you actually figured out what the heck the OP was asking about........:crazy2:

Yeah I had to tame it down a few knotches for the translation, I see there was a couple mistakes. I corrected your name spelling but "Something" as it just makes the post that much better IMHO yeah I said I would help out in transaction if this thing would present its self again
I didn't say I was good at it.

Peace

26 posts to determine why Echoes,Homies and Macs use 70 drivers on their 20 inch bars. Because that's the way they made them. Same as with other brands that use 72 drivers on their 20 inch bars. Because they made them that way. So learn to live with it.......

But just in case, I'll put this up so folks know what we mean when we say "D176" etc....

The poster or picture is informative however I think there must be a better one for 2015. I see some errors or out of date stuff. They do not really show the difference between A and K on the 095 and 041. The Stihl 3005 mount which is 074 must be an obsolete one the newer one gets fatter faster that one won't be wide enough soon enough to meet the oil input spot on the current Stihl products. I found out this buying new old stock.

The D176 seems to be of the get fat fast tail type. This must have some advantage but seems to be more drag and more wear in the first inch or two. I guess for a brand x bar it is more the slot, adjuster and oil locations.
