OK, now for something that I've never tried before. This is a video of Mike Slingerland's hotsaw run. I hope it works, these were just taken with a little camera, not a video camera, so there is no sound. The file is 1.3 meg, so it will take a while to load on dial up.

Sorry that I can't compress these files, the only software I have came with the camera, and doesn't help much.

This is video of Matt's hotsaw run. His time was 5.0something in the 16" white pine. Harry beat him in under 5 seconds. I don't know what he's done to that saw. Any guesses, Ed?

This is another big file, 1.7 meg. You might want to go for a cold drink or snack while waiting for it to load.

Look at the chips flying!!!

there is more to running a bikesaw than a chainsaw to me , Harry is one of the best operators there is , he is like clock work ,you can count of him evertime and this year he has been very good .
i know he has a D&D pipe on it but almost all of them do now.
you can give that same saw to someone that is not as good of a operator and you would think the saw is not that fast, most guys cannot keep the bikesaw in the power band, it is not as easy as you may think plus with the 3 cuts you have to be able to switch with that weight,

6 degrees of seperation gets shorter

Thats funny, I have like 20 relatives in Connelsville PA. I go there about every 2-3 years for a big family reunion. We are on the oustide fringes of that circle of family, my grammas cousins and kin. Theres a big bar out there somewhere, that was owned by a guy named Jack that is related to us.

Looks like some awsome saws running there. That always make for a great close to summer.

Awesome pics!!!!!!! Yep, my saw sounded like crap.... too much fuel was getting to the carb. I've bent the brass piece on the high speed jet and It needs some more. The float was getting too full and the carb was simply sucking in too much fuel. I hope I can figure it out this week. I"m going to call D&D and see if they can help me out or explain to me what needs to be done.

Again, awesome pics. I wish you would have come up and introduced yourself. Thanks so much.

All the best,
Jamie

Mike Eash in a cloud of chips. I'm not sure what motor this is, but it's not a Rotex.

MIke's saw is a 250 Honda that was built by Leo Lessard many years ago. It needs some work, but like me, he's not a seasoned operator. He's doing well with it though and the motor sounds right. Which is more than I can say.

All the best,
Jamie
