Ah ok got the *** thing now. Funny different forums have different acronyms that you just have to join to understand

It's another saw forum. The management here thinks that it needs to be censored. I'm still not quite sure on the thinking there. Anyway, just put forum.com after those three letters. Super helpful bunch of folks on a great forum. More talk about saws and less other stuff. No politics too, which is great.

This forums censors "OPE"? (O P E)?

Is this for real? It makes me inclined to delete this site and go over there instead

Yep, crazy huh? They censor all the names of so-called competing sites. Forestry forum, saw haw gz, hearth .com, etc. Like as if by censoring it they don't think we'll be able to find those sites. It's especially goofy since 0PE is a pretty common acronym in this arena. Sometimes it looks like someone's swearing when they're just looking for a reputable brand of string trimmer.

But yeah, join up over there. We'd love to have you.

What a stupid decision.

Trying to remain on top by censoring and blocking competition is a great way to lose customers.

Like just happened with me.

Well, thanks to this thread I have now discovered the other forum and it's excellent! Now I need to figure out what I need to do in order to be able to post.

I didn’t even notice I got censored, that’s silly.

What bar is everybody running on the ms261c-m?
I really like a 16" .325 .063 on my 261.

Don't forget steel toed boots if you don't have them already. One of the guys on my USFS thinning crew was called "nine toes" if you wanted to piss him off. He was lucky it wasn't five toes.
Recommendations? I’m not really a boot kinda guy as it kinda cuts down on agility. But that was like 15 years ago

I run a 20" on my 261 most of the time, but I have a 16" B&C for it as well. I think 18" is the sweet spot for that saw.

And.... no saw, didn’t come in which means I guess nobody picked it up today as the distribution center for the whole west coast ( says the parts guy) is here in town. So now I guess Thursday , sucks

Boots may cut down on agility but they aid in stability. I have a pair of Danner Quarry steel toes that I have worn almost every day for four years now. I'll probably buy another identical pair soon. I feel weird wearing anything but a boot anymore.

You get used to them after a while.

I like Redwings as they come in widths- I have narrow feet. Their logger boots are US made. Logger boots come in two flavors- caulks, pronounced "corks", which have steel spikes. They're used in the wet and slippery north west and for things like log rolling. Regular logger boots have steel toes, steel shank and slightly small heels. The heels let you walk down steep hills more easily. The usual height is 9" though there are longer and shorter ones available. 9" is a good all around height. Steel shank is good for walking on uneven surfaces like logs or slash. Logger boot soles have more of a curve than lineman boots as loggers do a lot more walking.
