I finally put on one of the two blades Cooks sent to me to test. I think it is the super-sharp. I cut up some red oak 18". It cut easier than the pine I was cutting with the original blade. I also cut some smaller walnut. I didn't believe the difference in the cutting speed and smoothness of the cut. I was worried about the hp on the HF as it is a littleover 7hp, but it made a believer out of me. I will report on how it hold up after more usage. :D:D

Given that there's no mud or dirt or metal, and the logs stay solid dogged, you'll get a few fair size hardwood logs like that out of a blade. When up in Ohio, cutting hardwoods, I get 2-4 20"+ hard maples per blade, quarter sawing 4/4. The logs are 8-10ft. I strive for 9ft. but don't measure when bucking so I get a range. No biggie. I cut the lumber into 30" sections when dry. I have been using WM doublehards, 7 degree. Next blades I buy will be 4 degree. I cut a lot of VERY hard woods out here in the desert. Stuff has been dead & dry for decades before I mill it, and is usually embedded with grit.

I will be cutting mostly pine 12" to 22" 9' to 19'. I'll be cutting Wednesday if weather permits. If that cuts like I think it will I will be very happy. The oak and walnut came from Min. and I cut it on shares as I don't get the bigger hard wood here very often.

Thanks for the review. Always nice to know about differences between blades!
