I need to buy some copper wool for my old Titan saw. It uses similar as Steel wool made by Bulldog products. I called them(Thomasville metal products) but they stopped production long time ago.
They told me it was called "COPPER SHAVINGS PAD"

I also called many hardware and there are none.

If you know where i can buy some or if you have an old box in the barn i would bw willing to make a purchase...let me know.

.........................Alain,

Grocery store

Right next to the scotch bright plastic scrub pads Chore Boy I think is the brand I used to get.....

Just so you know, it's "THAMESVILLE" , not thomasville. I drive right by the Bulldog steel wool plant every day on the way to work...............

I don't know if this would work for you or not.

Yep - bronze wool - used for preparing wood surfaces that will get a water based finish.. no rust...

Also good for cleaning up aluminum on boats used in saltwater (before applying Woody's Wax, of course!)

Getting to old

Maybe I'm getting too old to wax the woody! (talking about the car of course!)

thanks for the info.I did try many places/hobby shop/hardware store, since these could be used also for barbecue grills or garden tools cleaning, in my area they dont have any.We dont have a Walgreen but Walmart is around the corner... I will go shopping tomorrow....and hope they have some.......

Be careful if you use the bronze wool as even the #3 is too fine and needs a screen behind it lest you suck in some of the strands and chaf and suffer the results.

Air Cleaner

I needed new copper mesh for my 1951 Panhead I went to my Harley dealer and he ordered it in from one of his dist. it may be close to what you are looking for. And it worked great.:jester:
