I think I am pretty much done with it now, with exception of adding a few more wood types. I improved output formatting, added aliases such as "Bush Cord" for Cord. Also added BTU equivalents for electrical and heating oil, and some fun random firewood facts.

Had fun with that, what should i build next?

I have a suggestion to add to your equivalent to portion of the calculator, where you compare to electric or fuel oil could you also add propane and natural gas, most of us here in the midwest and west use one or the other for heating versus the two you have included

Good idea, I will add it this weekend.

Did some updates.

- Added energy equivalents of propane and natural gas.
- Removed need for .html in URL
- Few mobile version fixes
- Calculator now lives at: https://boisafeudunord.com/tools/firewood-calculator
- All requests to the old URL are redirected to the above
- Added social cards data and image
- Added breadcrumbs
- Added tooltip to Wood Condition

Few small updates to the mobile version.

If anybody would want to imbed the calc or even have a full version on their site it is pretty simple as I created an API for it.

Sooo I got the multiple wood types completed today, mixed load calculations now possible!

You can select up to 4 "WoodTypes" and set a % for each (must equal 100%). Weight and BTU totals will be affected by this change.

This is a great tool !! I played with it a bit and it took me way too long to realize it measures stacked wood, not an actual “woodpile” as in a pile of wood lol. I have a pile that’s 10’ wide, 4’ high and 22’ long and it kept telling me it was just over a full cord and I kept telling my phone that it was closer to 2.5 cord until I realized it never asked how wide the pile was. Just how wide the pieces were. Duh.

To be able to calculate a loose stacked pile would be handy. I can easily fudge the numbers with half the pile height and actual pile width for the Piece Length and it gives me an accurate number for cubic feet but loose wood is closer to 180cu/ft per cord if I’m not mistaken. I like the weight and btu calculations !!
