Yesterday was a nice change but we are back to major smoke in the Boise area now with no end in sight. The fires are creating their own spin over the area which sucks.
I think most of that area north of Chico is grasses and chaparral, which is why it moved so fast. You can see where it climbs the foothills and approaches Lassen, that's where the big timber is at.More on the CA Park Fire.

Davis Fire in South Reno. 6k acres, 0% containment. It's already burned a bunch of old neighborhoods, ranches, and a church. Threatening a big highschool and a lot of million dollar homes. Looks like it's climbing Slide mountain towards the ski resort.
Horrible.Wow.

"The most exclusive stretch of coastline in Malibu, Carbon Beach, aka Billionaire’s Beach, is in the center of the evacuation zone. The street is home to numerous properties reportedly owned by Oracle founder Larry Ellison, including a $48 million mansion designed by Getty Center architect Richard Meier."
It sounds like these billionaires should be paying for wildfire management in Malibu.Wow.

Nah. I think if a bunch of billionaires are going to set up a private paradise in a fire prone area they should pay 100% of the bill. What makes you think they aren't? Pretty sure they are paying property taxes. In Washington State, all wildfire management is funded that way.
