Fishercat and myself tackled a couple maples today. On the ground, cut up and cleaned up in just over 5 hours. Of course they were not much to speak of but still fun. Nothing damaged, nothing broken no one hurt... Cash in the pocket what could be better.

Fishercat below on his easy tree. (I keep telling him a hair helmet doesnt actually count as a helmet.)

Then of course I got the easier tree.

We were suppose to chip something?

Just kidding actually just used 6" Vermeer nothing too big to chip and chips compact much better. Got all the chips for both trees in one 8 foot dump small box.

Som,

I hope your wife doesn't see these pics.

She told me she has been looking for that orange salad bowl since last fall.

Good job lads, looked like a nice day in CT! I'm hoping all of our snow melts this week with the warmer weather we're having and can get some climbing in!:greenchainsaw:

Actaully was close to 60 the trees had already started to bud and by the end of the day the buds had doubled in size and amount. Hopefully the good weather isnt far off for us all.

My neighbor was whipping up some trees like that the other day. He had that same chipper, they rent them at the local hardware store.

I think he's a meter maid by day. :)

Actually the job site was in the Litchfield Hills so we had 40+ mile of travel each way so we decided to travel lite. The 6" wasnt a rental either its Fishercats and he has the thing performing to perfection for what it is. To bad I didnt think about it I could have had you come by (since its in your back yard) maybe we could meet like men and shake hands, instead of the continual childish banter. I hear your a great tree worker, no one is trying to compete with you. Give it a rest.

I was just teasing.

What town was this job in??

And did you not once say: "from what I hear you arent even that good", at one point - so dont go acting like some saint now dude.

Good on you for getting some of that greenery off the old horns though! lol.

Harwinton area (spelling corrected by MDS thanks)

Yeah yoru right I did say something like that but it was just BS out of revenge for some other bull####. I really dont mind humor if its with the right intent.

Actaully anyone that does stumps I may have a stump job for you there. Be cheaper for the homeowner to have someone local come out.

hahaha! fisher you look and remind me of an old climber I first worked with back in the day. Never a hard hat, smoke hangin out his mouth while climbing, but one of the most efficient guys I have ever seen to this day.

SOM, good to see your round belly up a tree after all the talk!!!

You are wearing T-shirts in march! It must be getting nicer out there. I miss old Connecticut.

I'll bet you do. I wouldnt want to be in california, thats for sure. Too many friutbaskets.

Its 60 out and sunny today. Got the shop door opened up for the first time this year, pressure washing and greasing stuff for tomorro. Work is coming in quicker than usual this year. Looks like winter is finally over! (well, for the most part).

geezus how much feckin rope you got, bits all over the shop.

learn to climb on 1 bit of rope and bin that tangle web of ####e

Hmm... looks like 1 flipcord and one climbing rope to me.... I won't say nothing about the belly because I am a 225 pound silverback in the tree... I outclimb most though.:D

One piece of constructive criticism though SOM:

In the first pic of yourself in the tree you've got your climbing line around the limb only (actually the stub but I'm sure there was a limb there before you cut it). That's pretty much a no no. Always go around the trunk of the tree. If for any reason the limb should fail it will be backed up by the next limb or fork down. Not to mention that you will not have to worry about your climbing line slipping off the stub and falling, however unlikely that may seem.
