This one just arrived today, I got it out of Vancouver WA. Had my daugther pick it up for me and ship it back to me.

Just got a glance at it but it looks pretty good, needs some antivibe mounts and a good cleaning. Compression seems more then stout. Will get it looked over this weekend as well.

Those are some d#*n fine looking saws Mark,I'd love to have an 8500 like that!

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy to say the least. The 8500 was a lot of work but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Cant wait to hear it run and this one will get run at least a little now and then. It was interesting to see all the little improvments Poulan made to the 8500 over the original 5200 and 5400. Heck of a saw it is.

I have been looking for a 2100 sometime as well and was waiting for the "right" one to come along and I hope this one is it but like I say I just got it out of the box and have not had time to look into it yet. I acutally seen it on the Portland C/L a few months ago but they had it priced way to high so I never bothered with it. If fell off C/L for sometime and then showed up in our C/L thread here. I couldnt resist so gave them a call and got it for a whole and I mean a whole lot less.

Hopefully it just needs a few bits to be 100%. Are antivibe mounts still availaible for these anymore?

That 8500 absolutely rocks!! When is the Indiana gtg so I can give it a test drive.

Rod, I'm trying, I really am to find a suitable place to have one. So far just dead ends but I'm still working on it and want to have one in the worst way. I will expect you and your dad to be there!

Oh and yes you can run the 8500.

Good luck on parts for the Husky. The only thing I found still available for my 2101XP (just a newer version of the 2100) is the fuel line, oil line, and the felling dog.

Mark,

Don't you have any rain gutters to clean or cracks in the driveway to fill? You're suspiciously organized and knocking out some killer projects. :potstir:

Really nice job on the hedge trimmers.

.............! When is the Indiana gtg so I can give it a test drive.

I would sure like to know myself. I think it is pretty damm sad there is a ton of AS members in a 100 mile radius of Gary IN and not one will put a GTG together:mad: There were two guys that put together great GTG's a few years back but nothing in the last 2 years. If I hosted one herenot a soul would show up as I am too far west for the OH/IN guys (for good reason)

That 8500 looks awesome. I love the sound of those old saws.:msp_thumbup:
