i have seen where refrence is made to a girth only being like a choked sling or larks foot; but have come to look at that as a choked sling and cut the legs open and it is a girth.
i came to this after several refrences of a deaf8, being smaller, but having the liability of it being easier for the line to slip up, lock on or girth hitch on and lock the moving line, suspending load or person suddenly.
Plus, i need something named in the knotting evolution or family tree i see, for as a rolling hitch, tautline, distel can trace back to the clove. i need something for prusiks (loops and open tail according to AM), schwabiski etc. to evlove from before desceding to muenter.
So if not girth, what is this position on the chart that is a clove with one story reversed(locked muenter?)? Showing, yet another way to lock the grandma halfs pitting them against each other. i would think that it is more secure than a clove, but pulls at a diffrent angle, possibly making it weaker in some positions.
