Hey, the cluch on my little crafstman has a missing spring, but the spring is just a piece of spring steel. My local guy says you cant get them anymore. So I was thinking of just using a clutch off ebay from a poulan or something, but don't know what to get, one on there says the OD is 2.33" and mine measures out at 2.56". Anybody know what I can use. Here is a pic of it.

Looks like a poulan, post a pic of the saw, and possibly the Craftsman
model number, and we can get you a part number, they are still likely available from Poulan.

Yep, it sure does look like a Poulan. 530023381 is the number for a spring on a S25 that looks just about like that. I checked at least one online parts source and they show it for a bit over $3, so hopefully you can find one. I don't have my saw in front of me to measure it right now, so don't take this for granted, but if you post pics as Fish suggested it won't take long to verify this.

Ok, I think its a Crafstman 2.1A, but I will have to go look at it to confirm, I will post a pic of it after work today. I thik that Poulan made these saws?? Its an old saw but I really like it cause its small and light, top handle, good for climbing trees with.

Update, its not a 2.1a like I thought, I went and looked at it, and is a 2.3, but the good news I got it fixed, using a tip from a forum member, using a old butter knife to make a new spring!! Got it done today and it worked real nice.

Thanks guys.

Amazingly, almost all parts for the older Craftsman saws are still available through Sears. Just go to sears.com and go to the parts section. I don't remember all the links you have to click on, but it is pretty self-explanatory. Enter the model number and it should come up with what's available. The prices, in some cases, are actually less than getting the part at an actual chainsaw parts house.
