The cummins QSB3.3 has sensors all over the place that feed into its ECM computer.
One of these is the "Fuel Rail Sensor". These go out every five years and the only fix is to replace the whole fuel rail at a cost of $800 plus installation. The proprietary part number of the Bosch sensor is 0281006090.
This PN is not available.
Now thanks to me and some good work by some trouble shooters at Cummins I have the cross over part number (0281002908) that can be had from a Bosch dealer in Estonia. They can be found on Ebay and got the part to me in three days with free shipping for $150 I think. When I called this number into Bosch US they still did not have a listing for it but I suppose they will some day as will Cummins.
Considering how many of these engines are out there it amazes me that nobody had thought to point out that charging $800 to replace a $150 sensor was bad for their brands, all three, Cummins, Vermeer and Bosch. And they were just protecting a minor third party manufacture in China.
It took me and them 3 weeks to track this part down. Tenacity and righteous indignation win out once more. You all can thank me later.

So again Bosch 0281006090 crosses to Bosch 0281002908.

Ya China. A Japanese vendor farmed out the fuel rail to a Chinese firm that makes tractors. They had a stock sensor re-numbered for their application then did not offer that part # for distribution in the US.
