Hey guys, i just got this poulan 2150 36cc saw and I wanted to customize to make it look cool and sound cool. I'm not really concerned about messing it up because its only a $70 chainsaw. So I've already cut a hole in the muffler and its sounds awsome i was thinking about making like a exhaust like on the hot saws but somthin simple. any other things i can do it to make this saw awsome screemin chip flyer? I mean anything!

Thanks-

well fist of all screaming saws and good cutting worksaws dont necessarily mean the same thing. like art martin use to say ,u can make more headway toward improvin u saw by getting the cutting end really rite.. which takes a little experience an knowledge..
u work on getting that down and u take as much stress off that saw as possible,
by using good mix an clean gas.
homeowner equipment like that can sometimes last pretty good with a knowlegable user..i once got three yrs of commercial work out of an murray w hydrostat transmission.,lawn mower.
by commercial i mean 35an more lawns a wk. its still running good now, altho retired.
u know u could always send it to dan henry . let him make a trick saw. in other wds . one that looks like a green poulan, and is actually a high end saw inside. if i still gambled a bit . it be the perfect setup..jmo
edit frank u posted the same time i did and once again said what i said in a book, in one sentence.u starting to give me a complex.:)

Well im not really concerned about the performance of the saw i mean im not gonna be taking it to hot saw competions i just want it to look cool like a bas ass saw.
Thanks-

AND WHY THE HECK NOT? :blob2:

if you want an opinon on Poulan saws from me, just look in a hole on my side lot, thats where my poulan ended up. I would say not to try adjusting the carb on a Poulan saw, I tried and failed. Also I HATE the new poulan homeowners saws because many of them lack an antivibration system of some sort or other. If you have already opened up the muffler you have done most of the modding a poulan will take. Personally I got sick of using a poulan and I bought a used Jonsered, Homelite 330 and a Powermac 310 for my jobs.

Well, I really dont have the money to buy a Husky 346xp but i would love to have one. i just thought since i have the poulan laying around I would just do something to it. Also the saw is like 6 years old so its not a new model. I mean yes i would like to increse the performance but i dont want to spend alot of money. Just wanna have a "Outlaw saw" i think i might make a custom air filter that like sticks out any ideas. THANKS A BUNCH!

If you've got a turbo off a Cat C16 diesel engine, try making a new Poulan TURBOCHARGED saw. I just started thinking about the gains of power. I cant stop drooling.

I say go for it! If the experiment leads to saw failure, so what?! There is one less Poulan in the world. You gotta start somewhere with learing anything. Take what you learn altering this saw and apply that knowledge to something else down the road.

if u just want someting to look cool .
just paint it black and put the number 3 on the side[no direspect,, to u dale if u watching]some of us miss u pretty bad.
u wasnt always rite,, i my opinion. but what u did ,,u did up front with everybody knowing it was u.and by golly everybody knew u was to be delt with. .
thats why u got the name intimidater.
ida hated been a driver in an equeal car to yours and u on my bumper. thats when the real skill an little sudtle tricks u knew ,,came into play..

I tried to put a small lawnmower air filter on it but its was to restrictive the saw could breath well enough. So I'll guess I'll screw around with the echaust.
Thanks-

the air filtration system on homeowners saws really cant be improved very easily. I learned that the hard way, I had a 2375 wildthing and I got bored one night cut a hole in the plastic cover and it wound up being a 2x2" hole. All I really did was succeed in allowing the filter to get dirtier faster. the saw doesnt really benefit from the muffler being opened up too much, That will actually slow the saw down or stop the thing altogether. A poulan to me is like a termite, I run it over with the dozer and then stop and back up to make sure its dead. I hate em.
