Years ago, I bought a new chainsaw for my Dad, a McCullloch Timberbear. He needed a new saw, as his last one had fallen out of the back of his truck and was pretty much used up anyways. Well, I never saw him use that saw much, and it was because it was so ???? hard to start, and if you ever did get the thing started, then you were too tired to get much work done with it.
He passed away 9 years ago, on 12/31/93. Just one more time, I picked up that old saw (which was so unused that it's still clean and has the paint on the bar) and tried to fire it up. It wouldn't fire up, and has sat ever since then, but I couldn't ever force myself to get rid of it.
Then I discovered this site last week. This past New Year's eve I took that old saw out and, with what I've learned here, adjusted the carb setting a bit, cleaned out the tank, and got it to fire up.
Thanks for the information you guys share, I know it's just a Mac to you, but as for me, I wouldn't trade that saw for anything you brag about here.
