Ok so I have been doing some reading on indoor furnaces. And I keep coming across guys talking about buying Daka's at menards for $500. Is this true? I looked on their website and it was like $1200 for the smaller stove.

The Menards around me have them at $899. On sale they are in the low $800s. I got mine four years ago and it was $679 on sale.

1) Daka only makes one size
2) I believe I'm the only one who scored a brand new from Menards, Daka for $500, and that was in February of 2004 on clearance. There were two, and the second one was paid for by the time I walked back to the loading dock to get mine.

Daka's are curtrently $799-$899 at Menards.

If you have questions regarding the Daka units, I'll answer any that I can.
So far, it performs as it states.

there is 2 different sizes of dakas. one has 1 blower and is rated to heat 105,00 sq ft. the other as 2 blowers and is rated to heat 125,000 sq ft, just go to there web site. I am sure that the one menards has for 899 is the smaller one. I am also waiting to get one on clearance.

Yeah there is two models... I was looking at them before I bought my Klondike. The bigger model has a draft fan and the smaller model has the bi-metalic draft control.

I've got the smaller one heating a 2000 sq. ft. house. The larger one wasn't available when I purchased mine. The Daka website prices the larger unit at $1800.

I've got no complaints with mine. It is a good unit and priced well. If I were asking it to heat a larger house, I probably would not be happy. Right now it is 21 F outside, the inside of the house is 74 F and the damper is barely opened and I've used 5 medium size oak logs since 7 am this morning. I won't have to fill it until around 5 this evening and then before bed I'll stuff it full.
