Averaging -20C for the last week here in "Winterpig" Manitoba. With good dry wood the fisher stove manages to keep 1300 sq feet of drafty old house at +20C.
Supposed to get to around 6F here tonight. I got up to 34F for a few hours today, and I pulled a half cord of wood out from under the snow. Not much snow left here, maybe 4 inches out there now. They got hit with a foot or more of snow in Portland 2 days ago. Traffic is still scrawling along there (mostly jack-knifed trucks on the ice). Floods are coming with a big Hawaiian 50F warmup on Monday. Should make the news again next week. California is flooding again today.
The right decision! Was planning to work on a thinning project this evening. It's 4 above on it's way to -27 with 15 mph winds. Thinking I will take a pass for another time.
I love winter but that was a bit extreme. So, you are migrating southwest? Heading to Arizona for the rest of the winter? It is more than 100 degrees F warmer there right now.
