Nice saw Moss! specially in pix #4  Honestly, that's a pretty nice saw and well worth $400 if it's in good nick. They go for $900 new. I'd check it out and hear it run then offer him $350. If he says no give him the $400.

Yeah, I just have been scanning for deals to turn something over and make a buck or two, but that bad boy would make a perfect addition to the firewood business.......I'll at least call the guy. :greenchainsaw:

Now I am hungry

Anything smashed between those buns sound good to me..offer 250 for the saw..

i'll buy the item in the 1st. three pictures for you if you can arrange for the item in 4th. pict to come for the weekend for a test run........wadda deal...

I just called the local Husky Dealer and he said a brand new one is $930. right now, I told him about the one in the ad and he said it is worth about $400. and you'd be taking a chance even then. Why is it I can never buy and sell to make money?

I emailed the guy anyway, we'll see if he still has it and how badly he wants to sell it.

"I would like to get $400" = definitely can buy it for less. I'd start with $300 out and have another $50 in the other pocket.

I bought a 385xp last year. It was an 05 model that only had 4-5 tanks through it. I paid $300 for it. Here is the deal the only people who are going to want that saw are people who make money with it. Homeowners don't want it. To big for most firewood cutters. The 385 is a good saw but real tree guys will get a 394/395xp before that. The ones that don't buy a 395xp will buy the MS660. The 385xp while a good saw kind of gets left behind when it comes to the pros. Real husky guys buy a 372xp and then go to the 395 or even 3120. I think you should be able to pick it up for $300-$325. I wouldn't go over $350. Anything over that and you can find a better deal.

Thanx Scott, I had $300. in the back of my mind. From what you say though, I might not be able to resell it. The 272xp is about all the saw I really need, but you know the deal with big cc saws man.....gemme!!!!

I'd have to agree w/ the others...not so sure it looks perfect as he states from the pictures.
Buddy just bought the same saw on CL for 425.00 guy wanted 550. Saw was 2yrs old w/ original bar on it. Looked as though saw only had at the most 10 tanks of fuel run through her. Wasn't any scratches on it...w/ good wipe down you'd have struggled to tell it from new. Was also an XPG w/ the heated handles.
Good luck

Ohhhh, my wife just pointed the saw out to me.

I bought a 394XP for $450 off of Ebay about 6 months ago and it was like brand new, only on its second chain, it was mint.

I would think that the condition of that saw it is priced about right at $400...wait let me look at the saw again...man I can't find the sawagain, let me call the wife back...

The guy already wrote back, here is what he said:

"saw is in perfect condition. I do nnot know the extent of the use.....I saw the saw when I was fixing an auto lift for a mechanic. He started it up and went through the m otions......it was very impressive. I have no doubt the saw will give many more days of service."

Rule #1: Never buy anything that needs to show buns.

Rule #2: If the seller has need from Rule #1, ASK why.

Rule #3: See Rule #1.

JMNSHO

P.S. Buy it on "subject to dealer inspection". Bring it to a pro, check compression, history, pro look see. If not, walk. You Stihl got the bun pic.

I agree, $400.00 seems high. If he would let you, pull the muffler & check compression. If all seems okay, I'd offer $250.00 to $300.00; especially when I really didn't "need" it.

There is a 3120 locally that I just heard about. He is asking $500.00, but willing to entertain offers.

I absolutely have no need of a saw that gargantuous.

Although... :monkey:

Actually, is it that much more of a saw than my 272xp? I don't find the 272 to be overpowered or scary, I have no problem handling the ole gal.

I emailed the guy to ask him if he'd meet me at my local saw shop for them to look the saw over, this should reveal if he is on the straight and narrow.
