I Have a mint Husky 50 which has done very little since I bought it new in 1988. Still on origional chain which is approx half way in the wear stakes.
But I would hate to score the bore so how often should I de-coke it? I have always run it on 32:1 mix (synthetics).View attachment 260546

I do this to my older sleds...

Get to the carb throat, and have it running. Mix a oiled batch of Sea foam engine treatment, and bog the engine out on that. Kill it, let it sit for 15 Mins! Then upon startup, itll effectivly burn the carbon (or most) off.

Works SWELL for me, and NO engine issues to date!

You have half of first chain left on a 24 yr old saw? :D You sharpen it once a year? :)

I don't think carbon buildup should be an issue with that low hours i you're using decent oil and your saw isn't way rich.
