What in the Husqvarna model number determines pro/non pro? I'd like to know, so when I go parts saw shopping, I can make a little more on the saw when I sell it rebuilt. Mostly smaller saws. I know STIHL, mainly if the number ends in an odd number, it is non pro, but in even, it is pro. Husky doesn't seem to be that way.

xp means real pro saw, even thou, there are some saws with same base as pro saws but sell as "normal" such as 353..

Stihl no longer goes by odd/ even numbers. Take the 361 and the 441 both are pro saws. Hmmmm Did I just say the 441.
Any hoo goes by the white handle.
Husky goes by xp but as stated any husky that does not have a plastic crank.

With STIHL, if you go 044 or 036, which both replace... With STIHL's current numbering system, if you didn't go ms290=029, all of them would be pro. :D

Anyone want to name off some common smaller (under 65 cc's) pro husky's to look for when I go through boxes of husky parts saws?

346, 353, 357? , 242, 246 to name some...

You have to take it on a case by case basis, (literally)
For example, the 353 and the 570 are pro-quality saws.
I agree with the aforementioned XP designation indicating pro-quality.
The non-magnesium crankcase saws, I would classify as non-pro.

I know the person (Used to be Husky dealer, now Jonsered), has a few big boxes of parts smaller Husky saws. I remember seeing a lot of 51 and 55 parts.

Go to their website.

Scroll down to the 575.
From this point down, it's all pro saws, above, all homo saws.

So we are calling the new 390XP and the 362XP (just to name two), which appear above the 575 non-pro saws.....................Don't think so!!!

No matter what anyone thinks the 359 is just as "pro quality" as the 357...........some parts are shared between the two!
