I just picked up a used 8018 and would like to change the oil. The manual says to refer to the deutz engine manual which I didn't get with the machine. Does someone have one to check and see what oil I should be running? Thanks

If it's a diesel run any good 15w40 like mobil delvac, shell rotella, delo 400, valvoline premium blue. Just change it on good intervals and any of the oils will be fine.

+1 Ive run rotella for years and really like it. I change the oil in my work trucks about ever 15/20 thousand miles. I know that is really pushing it, but as much as we drive them i couldnt afford to change it ever 3/5 thousand. I have a 05 f-350 with the 6.0 diesel that has almost 300 thousand on it, and dont use very little oil. Not saying the other oil isnt any good, but shell works great for me.

Hahaha. Kinda like the Ford, Chevy, Dodge thing. Or the Stihl, Husky one. :dizzy:
I've alway's used Delo 400 in my diesel's. I don't know how much oil yours holds, but I change oil in my skidder, chipper, and ASV at around 250 hours. I change it in my Dodge between 7500, and 10000 miles. Nothing uses enough oil to mention.

Yeah the oils get some people all riled up. I like the mobil delvac as it is usually the cheapest. I can buy 4 gallons at a Sam's Club for $38. With the new ford I've been buying the motorcraft in the 5 qt. jugs for $11.50 a jug. Valvoline is one of the highest rated buy some testing that was done a few years ago with just jugs with no labels. It was right below amsoil and royal purple. I change mine between 5-6k. In the old 7.3 stroke I had I used the rotella synthetic and it would start way better in real cold weather. The 7.3 and 6.0s really work oil hard using it to fire the injectors.
