Just a couple of quick log pick up with the little guy, here is a pecan log we pulled out of the back and the maples I gomped the heck out of, was the first time for me.

and then just a few half decent spruce which had up-rooted. The pecan had some issues as well so we took it down. I did the maple from the 55 footer, I was working more on newer growth just trying to clean it up and reduce the longer shoots when I heard a whistle from below. I looked down to see THE HAND go from high to low so the next piece the hit the ground was much bigger. It was probably better that way.

The more I read and the more I see I'm thinking that this is the way to go for me. I used a 7.5 ton Renault in England and was thinking of an F650 tipper for over here, but then I still have a chipper to buy and all the mauling is by hand. Tipping costs are quite reasonable here. For the same money I could probably buy a huge tipper trailer and a Dingo, and be more diverse.

The dan sucks and so does the dingo.

Just kidding. Thats how I load logs into my one ton with the tractor, works good but its kind of like a puzzle figuring out how to stack em so you can fit as much as possible in.

At the right point a man can jockey them atop each other. That is not my truck, my truck is steel. I have a rig point in the bed to haul logs up and in. I have some 28 inch dia poplar cut to ten6 . Two logs and the truck is loaded. I think I can get them on but wouldn't want to take them to far.

That little dingo ain't gonna load no 650. I can barely dump into 350. Its good to be on higher ground with those things as I depict in the pictures.

Beleive it or not both those streets were quite busy. The kind that is calm one second and the next a car is flying by.

That's why I was thinking of getting the trailer. A big goose neck could be towed with a smaller truck and I can have a ramp gate on the back of the trailer. A 20ft trailer will fit the dingo and a good load. Sound good?

Sounds better, a dump trailer would be king.

A big dump is what I was on about Dan. There's a company down here called Big Tex that make some awesome high sided dump trailers. All I would need to is cut to the trailer width put the heavy on top, and park the Dingo at the back. I think the running costs will be lower.

didnt you get all over blakesmaster for sending fire wood out of a prune? lol.

Prune? What the heck are you talking about? Where is a prune? That's a freaking hat rack right there. And that really ain't firewood either, its rotten crap! better it be on the ground where it can't hurt anybody.

I guess i took about 20 feet out of it, she is hurting. Probably going to remove it next year.

Most of the trees I have topped were topped before. I know, I find it hard to believe I am not the only tree guy out there myself.

The virgin trees I topped were done by order of the homeowner who were aware of the situation. In some cases they begged me to do it. It was either top it now, TD it later or " I have had the trees topped for a gazillion and one years now, please do it again"
Its an art, topping trees that is. Its mostly the maples it seems too.
