put me in this category.

Butch...After we limbed the trunk and cut the rot ball free the truck actually held the load. I think the truck would have moved it. We were in a hurry to finish the job so we could get tarps on the roof of the house so I didn't get any pictures but I think the home owners did. This would have made a good ad for Ford.

Glad you enjoyed.

Hey, I don't know how some get the impression this is a stupid thread. We never destroid a truck. I wouldn't be so foolish to brag about doing that. Its just hard working gut wrenching stories over a couple of beers that I'm refering to.

Those are some good pics though. I like the one with the truck and the uprooted tree.

Its just not good practice/professional method to load a truck.

Communicating on the internet can be more difficult than one might think. Many of my posts have been misunderstood. For me, its taking a little practice. I'm getting better... I think. ;)

But I think you have people here who think thats how you advocate loading a truck, which is probably not how you wanted your thoughts to come across.

No biggie, bro. :)

ive dropped stems onto the back of a transit before. only if there are chippings on the back though. cut it at the bed height and send it over slowly on a big hinge, length measured before hand of course. obviously nothing stupid sized, normally street sorbus. used to save about an hour in ringing and tidy up. saved our backs and saws loads of work. i worked with a guy in a cemetery once taking down dead elms. he would drop the brash off then chog down free falling chunks into the back of a transit, bloody stupid from 40' up, and didnt do van much good. made a hellish bang. i would never do that. we have rigged wood into the back of a van to save on cutting and lifting but this was quite awkwardbecause of size and weight. would do that again.

PRUNER1,
for loud bangs you should try loggin' off 100' london planes onto 2" steel plates on a un-even road surface in the middle of kensington.i have never laughed so much ina tree when i saw people nearly fall to the ground when chunks hit those plates.still makes me laugh thinking about it nearly 7 years later:D

Over loading is something I have done a few times to many. I have cracked 2 chassis of vehicles carrying to much weight in a trailer and bent 2 trailer axles. I dont have a chipper and dumping areas can be a long way off. I have learned somewhat, I "firewood" as much as I can, have had my truck and trailer strenghtened and do my best not to underestimate debris!

Oh suits kissing tar, brings a tear to my eye!:D :D :D

I often keep a novelty hockey mask handy in the lining of my helmet if I am working in town, now theres some cheap entertainment!
