Had a close call today.

I bought one of them Husky safety hats awhile back and I can not recommend them.
Just not comfortable and don't seem to be correct fit , bend over and it wants to fall off and chin strap is really not useable, ear protection not comfy either and I'm, familiar with hard hat fit.
Since it's a safety item go ahead and spend few more $'s and get a better one.
Try it on in the store if possible.

I got 10 cords delivered last year. Used long 1/4 inch cable and ATV to pull down to where they wouldn't git me.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Great presence of mind in slamming on the brake - that saved you a Chechen facelift. My BIL refuses to wear face protection, and I never cut without it. I may just have to share your post with him to show how quickly things can escalate.
I use the Husky helmet pictured there - highly recommended!
Another reason not to cut alone....

EDIT: My Husky helmet is NOT the one pictured on p1 of this post.... It's the Forest Technical helmet pictured below... Way better quality. The screen is metal.

As I keep telling everyone, the older I get the more I spend on safety gear. I go out these days with a $1000 of gear on. Lot less grief than a emergency room visit. Thanks to everyone for sharing their close calls so we can all learn from it.
