I was aware of this info thru Jonsered. IMO the 2149 was just not strong enough vs price to play in the 50cc class. It had tough competition in the MS260, 488 Shin, and the 651 Solo; Then there was the 656Efco/ CS 56 JD that would blow all of them away at about $350.

The the 262 (2163 Jonsered) was built on the same chasis as the 2171 and sold at very nearly the same price, It didn't sell well for that reason. Of course they still have the 365 / 2165 same chassis, but open ports (I believe) and lower price.

The 2165 makes a good firewood saw but has not sold here a loggers saw. Stihl MS460 and 066s are the benchmarkes around here and 65cc won't make the cut.

You tried the Efco 952 out??
Feels like the 3.4 ponies are real, and for 300 bucks! I do have a problem getting by the plastic handle though.
I've been offering a 10 day trade up on all the Efco's I've sold and haven't had one come back yet.
The only way I can move a 2163 is to discount it. They run fine, but cost to much. The '65 is the best seller for me in the red and black line, second has been the '49. Efco's been taking a big chunk of the smaller saws.

Yeah the 262 was not much more powerful than the 357 and it was heavier. I am surprised about the 351 since Husky pushes it so hard all the time. $5 says the 353 has as much power as an 026.

heard that the 55 / 55 Rancher was going away a long time ago and still see them all over...

The 55 Rancher is a much better saw than the 350 in my somewhat subjective opinion

I just found the new husqvarna 353 online and it is listed at 3.3 hp and 10.6 lbs with a max rpm at 13000 which is almost identical to the 346xp except for the rpms. Now what is the point of keeping all these saws that are so close to each other in weight and hp. Has anyone gotten one of the new 353's? I was just wondering how it compares to the 346xp.
