Been thinking about this and I really don't know. I see the shadow left by a Magnum sticker on the top plastic. It's directly adjacent to the 066 nameplate. Has the dual port muffler, older style cartridge air filter, and semi-clear gas tank.

But...it also has the redlight ignition. If not for this, I would have no problem with calling it a Magnum.

I have no reason to suspect that all these pieces are anything but original.

My parts list shows the main difference being the muffler and spikes.

Thanks, Chris Bean

With regards to the 066, I am working on one of the older models.
Is anyone aware if any of the 066's varied in compression rates?
I put together one yesterday and noted that at TDC the piston just barely contacts the top of the jug when I used gasket cement, so I fabricated a head gasket instead and it's alright but it sure has lots of compression.

I forgot to add that the jug has no compression release nor any provision for one.

Gypo,

I would consider mine an older 066 because of the LED, and I used the high comp. base gasket with zero problems. Without a gasket, never tried that.

Chris- yours is the magnum. All the red light 066s were magnums. The high and low compression models were dependent on arctic or non-arctic. The arctic models used the thicker base gasket.

The red-light indicates the governed ignition and these were only made during 1991-92. The ignition supposedly topped out at 12,500 when new but as the rev-limiting ignition ages it tops out at less rpm.
