He/she looks very Labrador like if so & it's any thing like our 11 year old that disappeared into the forest a couple of months back & has not returned ( fear the worst) as he would lie in front of the stove so long you could smell his fur singeing, only at the very last moment would he move & on one occasion I'm sure I could see smoke rising from his thick back fur as he walked past to the door ( Don't half miss the old b***er though)

I live in a small hamlet, All of 4 houses 2 of which are "gite's"holiday homes although they are only used by owners/ family it is about 20mins drive North West of Pau; the hamlet is called Lapeyrugue of which there are about 4 in the area which makes for confusion if you don't have the postcode
Only thing that loves lying in front of a fire more than a dog is........A Cat
Not sure if this "Bad Dog" counts but the Jotul keeps his old bones warm. The hat is the best $3.99 I've spent in a long time paying back with smile from the young and old.

They do a line of "Noel" ( Christmas ) hats in all sizes in the area I live for the " St Nickolas" helpers very similar to the one you have but with ear flaps my grand daughter bought it for me & the beginning of this year Jan 2nd 2016 I went to work & ended up logging in it The p**s taking from the rest of the crew was merciless I got my own back though as when they came into the workshop to pick up the serviced saws I told them you took the p**s out of my hat Iv'e not got around to servicing the saws ( Tough s**t) that slowed them up somewhat.
I can take it and dish it back in spades. One of those intangible work skills via USMC. I could put the grinch in his place.

Poor things got no hair, literally.
