Doing work for family/friends?

When family or friends ask for work I have them get 2 estimates so they know the value. Then I have them wait until I'm not busy. They really hate doing tree work in January in Wisconsin. Pete

Thats what I just had done for my FIL, I bought some acerage off of him on land contract, the adjoining property is in CRP and the land has been let go of for about 20-30 years the Gov't said the trees have to be removed (probably 200-300), so I offered to cut and clear them in a pile and burn them off. Before I gave him a price I posted here and asked what people were charging and then I offered him to do the same, I gave him my quote and he got his and I'm doing the job(as we speak) for this years land payment. We both are happy!!

If I'd had a pound for every freebie I'd done over the years. I could have two weeks on vacation anywhere. It always amazes me how many people can call themselves a friend when they want a job done
