Just out of curiosity, how thirsty are the 7900's. I had a 460 for awhile and was surprised how much fuel mix it drank compared to a 360 or even a 440 which my buddy ran along side it. I know bigger cubes equal more fuel, but some saws seem to drink more than others.

I find my 7900 (stock) to be very thirsty, to the point it actually surprised me a bit. I haven't done any objective measurements as compard to my other saws, but I think I will sometime.

But even with the chain tensioner that I think could be reengineerd over a lunch break with the right engineer, I really love running the saw and would buy one again in a heartbeat.

In terms of the 440/460 I do business with a pretty large scale burl vendor that buys 440's over 460s mostly because since they are running saws non stop all day for months out of the year, they feel the much better fuel consumption of the 440 over the 460 is worth giving up a little power.

I've heard that same comment from the DOE lineman I work with.
