Well I finally found a Dolmar dealer with saws around here, but too late. He's got a nice little shop, sells Ferris, Snapper, Dolmar and other Briggs and stratton companies. He had 1 5100s left. He said he would sell it to me for $390. Unfortunatley for me, I had gotten a new stihl after Christmas and I can't do another saw for awhile. He also said that Briggs was looking at remarketing a dolmar under their own brand?:jawdrop: Sounds interesting. What do you guys think?

Looks like you'll have to wait for a few months to get your new saw! Good that you found a nice local dealer.

As for Briggs and Dolmar linking up, I highly doubt it. The IDN may also be Briggs Distributors but they aren't owned by BSPP, in fact they actually distribute some lines that compete with Briggs in some states.

It would be cool to see Dolmar slide under the HUGE umbrella that is Briggs & Stratton Outdoor Power Products as they have a boat load of $$$$ for advertising and development. Look what has happened with Ferris, Simplicity, Snapper in the last few years. They have grown tremendously and leaned out their product lines.

Sounds like you're dealer is being brainwashed by the BSYPPG!
