I think selling online would be better for Dolmar, saws sold are saws sold, but would be worse for the user if they cant get support. I buy other stuff over the net I cant get locally, and they pay shipping if it goes back. Doesnt Dolmar have a factory on the east coast? Any product that went down could be shipped back, and they could still authoruze local shops to fix there product. Saws get sold, shops fix saws, and bad dealers get pulled out of the equasion. the only people hurt would be the local good dealers, but I havent seen any... Dolmar could aslo fix pricing so that the major stores could not undercut the little good shops by ant or very little. Sounds like a saw fantasy...

dolmar can sell online, but they are not allowed to list any prices below MSRP. To get a better price, you have to go to a dealer.
until there is more dealers out there, I think more online sales would help dolmar get more saws out into the hands of more people. i bought my first dolmar without having a local dealer.. i have since found a very good one and bought a 7900 becuase of the awesomeness of their saws.
Parts is still an issue, whether it is a dealer that doens't have parts or the distributors that don't stock parts....I'm still pizzed it took two months to get a new 7900 starter decal.....If Baileys is selling saws again, they will be an autorized dealer for warrenty and parts. one of the chance to take going over the internet, but if you don't have a local dealer anyway, what does it matter?

Sure can, I just went through the process but didn't actually buy one. Well looks like Dolmar is now Home Depot bound. I guess you can now add them to the Poulan, Homelite, Mac, list of has been saws here in a couple of years.

Guys, it is a crappy thing for Dolmar to do. There could be a ton of reasons for them. I've got 3 Stihl dealers right in my area, THEY ALL SUCK. I've posted many a story about the idiots I get to deal with here. I'm not gonna bash a Stihl cause of their dealers though. Stihl are one the best saws out there, and stihl my favorite. Ya'll shouldn't be bashin' the saws, it's the sycophantic d1kw@d sales people and corporate chodes that make a company non personable. Not the saws. I'll be buyin another Dolmar cause they are awesome. That said, I'm sorry for what happened to the dealer, it sucks. I hope you get a couple more lines to sell guy.

In Home Depot's rental department you can buy the Makita versions. They had the 510 for $375. They had like 4 of them in a box. They actually have 2 6400 for rent. I know im keepin my eye out for when they try to sell the rental saws. I know my next saw will either be a 5100 or a MS 361.

I don't think that Bailey's carrying any saw is a bad thing. And anyone who complains about their service evidently hasn't delt with them much.
I can't speak for other online dealers, but if your dealer sucks your on your own anyway, regardless of the brand.
