Ed seems to know how to mod them, but I believe he thinks the 372 will take mods better. I heard the 372 has a wider piston skirt, but I've never had either apart. So far, my 7900 has all the power I need. We'll see after July 28 when I race it for the first time at West Bend.

Oh yeah? Well how do you explain this shot of you touching this expensive piece of equipment? Bet you couldn't make up your mind whether you liked or disliked that soft spongy suspension.

Watch out Elvis...the “paparazzi!” is everywhere!
Think that woman on the left is the guy's wife? :hmm3grin2orange:

Well, this week will be the week of fish or cut bait. I however have discovered a couple of locations that have the famed Husky 372xp's for sale. I am going to check out the 7900 hopefully tomorrow. I might as well do a coin toss :dizzy:

I have a brand new 372W with just a few tanks through it. It lags my 6401/7900 the jug of which is barely broken in...I'll prolly get both those modded, but meanwhile, my ehp 372W should be done soon. Ed says that it should be faster than the 7900 when both are ported.

All that will do is drive you to get the 7900 ported, then the 3120, then the.. uh oh...no where to go... :yoyo:

I have come to discover this is a never ending perpetuating cycle from hell in the quest for the most power and it is so addicting. In my case chainsaws are the equivalent of what alcohol is to a alleged reformed alcoholic, "one's too many and a thousands not enough". :bang:

Take a look at this 7900 vid.

Can't really judge how fast that chains is cutting, but he gets a good looking cookie which I like to see. How thin and even a cookie is should contribute to who wins a competition in my view.

BTW, today I ran a new Oregon CL (square chisel) on my 7900 (28 inch bar) without sharpening it first because I was too lazy to sharpen it before using it (was cutting some kind of dirty wood). What a dog from the getgo. It'll be fine once it visits my grinder.

I usually am okay with Stihl square off the reel, but the Oregon is iffy new.
